No Mud, No Lotus
by Thich Nhat Hanh

I start every year by reading this book, (listening, actually). It's amazing and I find the lessons in it to be ones we could all be reminded of year over year. Reminding ourselves that we must remember that without pain, we have no relief. Without darkness, no light. That we can hold gentle space for these things and walk with them rather than fight against them.

Remarkably Bright Creatures

Staff Recommendation. So excited the audiobook arrived at the library! This summer I read the hardback book so I jumped at the opportunity to hear Marcellus. What a treat! Michael Ulrich did a great job, although I think Tom Hanks or Robin Williams fit Marcellus's snarky personality. Powerful climax and touching moments more realistic in the audio version. Marcellus Ethan, Tova, Cameron and Avery are a remarkably bright family!!

I love the Hannah Swensen series by Joanne Fluke. They are murder mysteries with dessert recipes too. This book was a winner.

It was hard to read about all the devastation that war brings to both sides and to the landscape . The devotion to family across many generations was touching . The character’s stamina was admirable .

This book was very enjoyable and a great set up to a series.

The Orphan Train Girl was a very interesting and awesome book. I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this book to kids 10 and up.
