romance, mystery, history, family....this novel has a little bit of everything. First book in a 2 book series about half sisters who recently discover each other and the family they share. A race against the clock to discover a missing heirloom and flashbacks to tell their grandfather's story of his time in the Dutch Resistance during WW2.

We loved it! The characters are so cute but I just felt like I was expecting a different ending. But all in all, a nice little book!

This book was a very easy read. It had short chapters and clipped along at a good pace. The language is simple. The book was done for a book group and many of the participants enjoyed it. I didn't care for it as much as the others in my group. I found LaMarr totally self-centered and there was less time placed on her intelligence than on her personal troubles, her beauty and her narcissism.

The Art of the Con

I attended the discussion on July 26th. The amount of art forgeries and crimes mentioned in this book blew me away! Most people remember the famous 1990 art heist at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, however few people know about crimes conducted over the Internet or duped sales. It's scary how many innocent artists and businesses suffered from these selfish criminals. It's no wonder why people are cautious purchasing beautiful artwork and appraising it for authenticity to make sure it's a genuine masterpiece. Shocking to learn George Washington's portrait was one of the earliest victims of a greedy forger!
