A classic for a reason!

Love anything Dr Seuss

romance, mystery, history, family....this novel has a little bit of everything. First book in a 2 book series about half sisters who recently discover each other and the family they share. A race against the clock to discover a missing heirloom and flashbacks to tell their grandfather's story of his time in the Dutch Resistance during WW2.

Not terrible, kind of slow read at some parts. Interesting story!

A standard Hannah Swenson book. The surprise was how the deceased actually died.

The world building in this book is fascinating, and the premise and first 2/3 of the book had me hooked. Unfortunately the author added a plot twist that I found unnecessary and a stretch right at the end of the book. 4 stars

If you can accept the adult language and subject matter, the life story of Danny Trejo is interesting and inspiring. I didn’t know much about him and was surprised and impressed to learn about how he fought the LA fires as an inmate, made the rounds through the California correctional system and ended up working at a rehab facility before making his Hollywood film debut. If you’re a fan, it’s a good read.
